big girl bed

Since she figured out how to do it all Leah could talk about was how she was a big girl and how she could get out of her bed all by herself. She was SO proud.

We really were not ready to take her out her crib because it not likely she will stay in her bed. There will have to be many reminders for her to go back to her room. There will even be a few threats but she was so proud of herself so it had to be done.
I took her to the store to pick out new bedding because I thought it might help get her excited about staying in bed. They had THE cutest set with owls and trees that would have gone perfectly with her room. I tried so hard to convince her to pick that set but there was no way I was going to change her mind. She had her heart set on Buzz Lightyear sheets because, "he is my favorite Mommy."

I was not surprised because a couple of her most prized possessions are Toy Story related. I had to give a try for the cute owl stuff though.
I got the biggest most awesome bear hug and thank you when we were walking out of the store. It was quite a sight to see her hold that big bag, drag it home and up the stairs to her room. She kept repeating that Daddy and Papa would be so excited to see it.
Jordan was excited that Leah picked such a "handsome" blanket. He is so happy that she is in a big bed and that he can get in and out of her bed easily now. I have a feeling I am going to find them in the same bed more often than not.
She did great on her first night. It took her a while to settle down but honestly that is nothing out of the norm for her. She got up a few times and had to come give me huggies and kisses. I did have to threaten to put up the baby bed once. But only once.

Around 7 am I heard her little feet coming towards our room and I heard the words, "all done Mommy." So all in all a pretty good night.
