while i was away

Somehow while I was in Vegas both my kids learned things that I have been trying to teach them or  at least get them to try for months and months. Thanks Aunt Sheryl. You rock! All of a sudden my little lady can get on the potty all. by. herself! Refusing to let anyone help her. It is quite a show to watch her squirm her little body up, and I am pretty she will fall in some day. I can go on for days listing all the wonderful things about Leah but dainty and graceful she is not. Sorry baby girl.

It is awesome not having to worry about dropping everything I am doing when she sounds the alarm that she has to go potty because she can get up there now. I am super grateful.

As for Jordan...

That little rockstar is putting his face underwater...yahoo!!! We thought the day would never come when he would be comfortable enough to put his face in the water. He is very proud of himself and we are so excited for him. Not only did he show me his underwater skills outside but he had his goggles with him in the bathtub so he could practice putting his face underwater when went inside too.

vegas baby

I did not bring my camera to Vegas, I did not want to risk anything happening to it while traveling. Andy had his cell phone camera that we used for a few pics. Not too many. Unfortunately I never even thought to turn the camera on him. I promise though he had a ton of fun. I was so worried about leaving my babies and it was not easy but I knew they were having a blast at home so I was able to relax and have fun. Two things I will never forget about Vegas are that there are a lot of "different" people out there and it is hot, so hot. A hot like you have never felt before, dry heat or not it is crazy. Oh yeah in case you haven't heard Jay and I were big winners!! Woot woot!

first t-ball game ~ 2011

T-ball started this past Friday

Jordan had a blast and keeps asking when we get to go back to play again

Not too many pics because I was busy watching my little man and hangin' with this little lady

Just thought I would share a few while I had a minute to spare

if you wondered

Were you wondering where we got our inspiration for Jordan's SUPER cute new summer hairdo?

We were so excited to have a few of our favorite people on earth visit us this week. Our SUPER cute swimming guests were styling some cute locks (or lack of really) and we just had to copy. They say imitation is the best form of flattery right?

This green eyed beauty may not have a mohawk but she sure is a doll. Just as sweet as can be.

She was the inspiration for our little lady to take a plunge of her own...

Swimming in the pool, all by herself. She kept telling me over and over that she can do it now, "just like Lauryn."

fifty two on friday ~ week 22 (in a row)

By the looks of this first image it may seem like we are torturing our poor little man but he really wanted this haircut and was really excited...

Really. He loves his mohawk. Which I think sort of looks like a row. A stretch? Maybe.
But that is my story and I am sticking to it. He really does love it, and I think he looks super cute too.

air show 2011

For the past few years, sometime in June we head to  Bolingbrook's Clow Airport to enjoy the Cavalcade of Planes. It is something I look forward to all year long. There is just something about airplanes old and new that I cannot get enough of. This show is especially nice because it close to home and we can go for a couple of hours and not feel like we have wasted our money. The kids had so much fun this year. They really enjoyed sitting in the cockpit of a real military helicopter, watching the skydivers land on the ground, and seeing a fire truck up close. Since our visit to the show Jordan has decided he is going to be a pilot. Maybe even a fireman who jumps into a fire and is also a pilot ! He picked a library book about smoke jumpers last week after our trip to the airport ; )

fifty two on friday ~ week 21 (daily life)

Ah our daily life...what comes to mind first? Aside from the constant cleaning, which still seems to amount to a dirty house, and the 5000 times I have to remind these little ones not to do one thing or another? We really do have fun around here. I really did not want to take a picture of me cleaning the floors for the 15th time before noon. Or me putting one of the kids in a time out, telling them no, or wiping away tears. So I am focusing on the happier things we do on a daily basis.

In this house we always find time to...

soar
be silly
snack
smile big
and shimmy, of course.

Be sure to complete the circle today, it will be so much fun to see what everyone comes up for this week's theme. Next up is Meghan Boyer, Maryland Lifestyle Photographer
