52 on friday week 13 (music)

We saw this proud guy at the zoo yesterday. You can't tell from the picture but he was calling out very loudly for a mate. Maybe not music to our ears but like they say..."beauty is in the eye (and I will add ears) of the beholder". His song may not have been beautiful to us, but we all agreed he sure was gorgeous and quite impressive.

birthday wish

I had to admit these two literally made my blood boil yesterday. I cannot tell you how many times I asked them to stop doing something and they just kept on doing whatever their little hearts desired...they were driving me crazy.

Bless their little hearts though because they were worried because they did not have birthday gifts for me. I told them that was ok because all I wanted was for them to take a picture with me and that was easy.

I used a remote switch and although they are not perfect I am happy that they sat still long enough to snap a couple of us together.

glimpses week 12

For the past few days the kids and I have been trying to search for worms. We have not had much luck until today...we hit the worm jack pot! Today was a good day, a very good day.

At first Leah said she did not want to get her hands dirty. When she heard all the hooting and hollerin' and saw all the fun Jordan and I were having she decided she had to get in on the action.

Jordan told me he was going to take a break from playing so he could, "sit with his friends."

52 on friday week 12 (books)

For this theme I probably should have focused my camera on the book since the theme is books. Then again I have a thing for kid and baby feet and hers are just so stinking cute and I was completely distracted by the adorableness of those toes.

Maybe I should be afraid that her choice of books was Beware of The Dark Side. She is a tiny bit addicted to Star Wars just like her brother now. She told me that she doesn't even like Strawberry Shortcake anymore, she just likes Star Wars.

There is a girl in the new Star Wars series named Ahsoka Tano and almost daily tells me she is going to be her when she grows up. She also tells me that she doesn't want to grow up because she wants to stay small so she can take swimming lessons and dance classes forever.

glimpses week 11

The kids wanted to walk to the park which is just a couple blocks away from our house. They had a few minutes of play in them and then Leah was completely pooped. The walk knocked all the energy out of her. Their little legs could barely carry them all the way home. These two clearly have a very rough life.

52 on friday week 11

I have been super crabby all week. Even with this awesome weather I just couldn't shake it, darn hormones! I did not participate in the theme for the week, which was green but I did manage to take some pictures of Jordan enjoying this wonderful weather. Some days you take what you can get and you are thankful for it.

This is us on a typical day. IF the kids are wearing clothes they are inside out or backwards. If Jordan is doing anything these days you can bet money that it is most likely Star Wars related. If it is not Star Wars related he is getting dirty and making some sort of mess. That last picture is of Yoda. I missed the shot of Darth Maul and Vadar, sorry that will have to wait for another day.

glimpses ~ week 10

Every week we head off to swimming lessons. The kids love it! I am not in the pool area during the lesson but we snuck in a little early and the kids showed off their mad skills and I snapped a fews pics. They are super proud of all they are learning. This is just a glimpse of the pool.

52 on friday week 10 (your season)

"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures" ~ Thorton Wilder

I just love when my little ones bring home these small treasures. Jordan was especially proud of this little bird he made at school to celebrate the approaching arrival of spring.

quiet time

Jordan had a reading breakthrough this week and is sounding out 3 and 4 letter words. Leah is determined to follow in his foot steps and is convinced that she can read too. It is cute to hear her read books and hear Jordan quietly giggle because he knows she is not really reading the words correctly. I have to remind him that she is still just a little girl and she is just learning so it is not nice to laugh. He always gives me a knowing look, acknowledging that he knows the words and she clearly does not really know the words.

Today I came across her quietly reading, probably trying to practice in the computer room...

glimpses ~ week 9

I shared this with some already this week but this was my fave glimpse from the week. Crummy week, and when I came around the corner and caught these two like this it brought a much needed smile to my face. They were playing Mommy & Daddy. I love it when they don't realize I have the camera and I eeek a shot out like this before they can run off.
