Leah at 2

It seems like just yesterday
2 years have already gone by
Leah has changed so much
She never ceases to amaze us
She makes us smile every day

Some things about Leah at 2:

She loves to give huggies and kisses
She adores Jordan, he is her best friend
She cries when he goes to preschool
She walks around aimlessly
Calling out his name until he gets back home
She has the cutest way of saying "sure" when you ask her a question
She also has this sweet way of saying, "thank you" and "your welcome"
She is very much an accessory girl
She loves to wear hats, shoes, necklaces, barrettes, and says,
"I pretty" to ask you to help her to put any of these things on her
She is awful to put down to bed at night
It takes at least an hour of going in and out of her room
Asking for her cup, help with her blanket, a book, the potty, her phone...
the list goes on an on
And yes we could and maybe should not play into but
she is just too stinkin' cute and we can't help ourselves
Also, anytime we don't go in and then finally do go in to check on her
something crazy is going on...
Like she will not have any clothes on
Or somehow she will have the lid off her cup and her bed will be soaked with juice
So we almost always go in
Also, she is a horrible sleeper
She wakes up several times a night
Asking for her cup, help with her blanket, a book, the potty, her phone...
again the list goes on an on
She loves to "read" books and watch movies
Her favorite characters lately are Handymanny and Nemo
She loves, loves, loves animals
She likes dogs most of all
She hates getting her picture taken and always tells me
" no picture Mommy" and hides her face when I try to take her picture
She like to pretend she is taking pictures though and will hold Lego's and say, "cheese"
She is feisty, strong willed and determined to get her way
Can cry on a dime if she does not get her way
She is the toughest chick I know
I am so proud to be her Mom
I cannot wait to see wait the next year has in store for us
I am sure it will be exciting and fun
With Leah around it is always an adventure
Happy Birthday Leah! I am so lucky to be your Mom.

Unsupervised

2 minutes is all it takes for a 2 year old to make 1 big mess
those are eggs and baby wipes
Leah got the eggs out of the fridge
had some fun
while Mom was away
lovely girl, she tried to clean up
when she was done she brought me the carton of eggs

Lost

I spent so much time worrying about Jordan
worrying about how he was going to adjust to school
I never once thought about how hard it would be for Leah
our poor little girl
she is having MAJOR separation anxiety
when Jordan goes to school
she gets very, very upset
she cries and says his name
over and over and over
from the minute he gets out of the car
until the minute he gets back in the car
she is lost without her best buddy
she is lost without her partner in crime
when we pick him up she asks him, " have fun Jordan, have fun?"
and today right away she told him, " I love you, huggies?"
we told him that she misses him
he said he misses her too
she really misses her friend
they are best pals
all is right with the world
and the sun comes out
when they are together

My Sweet (Not A Baby) Boy

Jordan's first day at school was great
he woke up bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to go

he was so excited to go to school with his best pal Jack
they are going to be quite a pair this year
Mrs. Versluys called me to give me the update on the boys
(Mr. Versluys is the principal at the school so he peeked in on the boys)
she said that Jordan was keeping Jack in line
she said Jack kept trying to take his name tag off
and Jordan was whispering to him that he had to keep it on
she also said that they were sitting so close to each other
that they were almost one person
these boys are too too cute together

he was so brave
and walked right in to school
we were so proud of him
Jordan said school was really great
he can't wait to go back tomorrow

I was especially proud of him when
he walked out with a smile on his face
with his adorable teacher Mrs. Gunderson
she said he did awesome
and told me what a sweet, sweet boy he is
I love to hear that
I hope he continues to keep it up

Funny Bigger Guy

Yesterday Jordan told me my kisses were stinky
when I asked him what they smelled like he said
C O W

I took it as a compliment...
because cows are his favorite animal
he kept asking for more
stinky cow kisses
he was cracking himself up
mooing when he would kiss me

funny, funny guy

big guy

Jordan was a rock star
at the preschool open house
he had so much fun
had great manners
found his cubby with ease
and played well with all his friends
he still thinks there is a chance Mommy will stay
with him when he goes for the real thing next week
but he is looking forward to going and being a bigger guy
there is a chance he will cry when we drop him off
(I am sure Mommy will)
but I am sure it will be short lived and he will have tons of fun

big day

Jordan is super excited
for his big day
he will finally go to preschool tomorrow
and meet his teachers
and meet all his new friends
we have been waiting for this day
for such a long time
he is so cute
he is sleeping with his back pack
