project 12 portraits - soulful

"She dances to the songs in her head, speaks with the rhythm of her heart, and loves from the depths of her soul." - Dean Jackson

This month's theme for our portrait project was soulful. While this image does not exactly scream soulful it does speak to me about Leah at this age and I will always cherish it. I asked Leah if I could take a few pictures of her she thought it would be fitting to take them of her in her leopard coat because she loves everything leopard. Leopards are so much a part of who she is at this age. So much of what she loves to wear has some sort of leopard design... from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. When I look back at this age I will always remember her love of snow leopards. I will also remember how this was the first year she really enjoyed playing in the snow. In years past, it would take at least 10 minutes to get all her gear on and she would be back in less than that asking for hot chocolate.

Next up is the talented Melissa Deakin | Buffalo, NY Family Photographer please be sure to follow through the circle.

Ok this is such a lovely portrait of such a beautiful young girl! You can see the innocent joy in her eyes! I adore the fact that she loves snow leopards! I do to! This shot couldn't be better, I love the fact that you also took it in the snow. Perfect!

Stunning. Love the snow falling softly around her & how it strengthens the the image.
